The Kathmandu Ghantaghar is a famous clock tower that was built right in the heart of Kathmandu.

It was established back in the year 1894 by the then Prime Minister Bir Shumsher during the Rana regime and still stands as a significant landmark showcasing the city’s architectural and historical inheritance.

After being severely destroyed by a strong earthquake in 1934, the tower which was originally designed based on Big Ben in London was remodeled.

Ghantaghar is among the well-known towers in many countries in the world.
